Welcome to Korean Sapsaree Adoption Website!
Thank you for visiting our website. You are either a friend of ours or a new friend referred to this website by your friend. We welcome you.
This website is designed to provide you information on a rare Korean breed dog, Sapsaree, a registered National Treasure of Korea that was revived from a massacre and (almost) extinction under Japanese Colonization. Today, there are about 3500 Sapsarees living in the world. This website also shares stories of those Sapsarees that came to the United States over the past decade and have been expanding their family lines since.
In March 2011, the Korea Sapsaree Foundation discovered that only a handful of Korean Sapsarees that came to the U.S. have been exploited and abused for breeding. The Foundation responded immediately and is currently initiating an effort to bring a chapter to the U.S. to better care for Korean Sapsarees living in the U.S. Since March 2011, a team of like-minded people have been identifying Sapsarees living in this country, rescuing the ones that are living in challenging conditions and placing them in new homes where they are cared with love.
Since the first rescue in March 2011 to date, close to 100 Sapsarees have been identified, and about twenty of them have been rescued and found new homes. We welcome you to stories shared on this website, and ask you for your support in finding good homes for these precious creatures that deserve a good family and life.
We sincerely and genuinely appreciate your time and care.
