Saydee, the blue Sapsaeree adopted in Florida
Saydee found our home in Florida in September 2012. She came underweight, covered in matted hair, and seemingly with no socialization. She was 14 months old when she was newly adopted. It is a tribute to the nature of the Sapsaree that Saydee transformed into a sweet, happy family pet. She was frightened upon arrival, but slowly started to trust her new family. She finally allowed us to cut her hair and bathe her. Now that Saydee has been with us for 5 months, she is a happy and healthy family member. Saydee and her new "brother" play most of the day, love to take take long walks and enjoy keeping the neighborhood squirrels out of our yard. She loves car rides and going to the beach. Saydee has already become a valued family member and we look forward to many happy years with our Sapsaree.
Ebboone, the pretty Sapsaree adopted in Massachusetts
Ebboone (means pretty) is one and a half year old female Sapsaree that was raised outside with her sister Norange (now Sally) without much socialization since a puppy. Ebboone is from Han Gook and Maggie's fourth or fifth litter. Ebboone was underweight and had eating difficulties when the owner surrendered her. During the two weeks of foster period, Ebboone recovered her eating and sleeping deprivation (she often fell asleep even walking and sitting,, literally everywhere, and loved sleeping under the blanket!). Ebboone has been adopted by a very nice lady in Massachusetts who is taking a tender and loving care of her. Ebboone is eating well and sleeping more regularly, and is taking training classes with her mom where she is acing her class by not needing any treats to motivate herself to follow commends. Ebboone brings socks to her mom for morning walks, plays touch down ball game with her mom, and enjoys visiting her auntie's and playing with her fluffy cousin Dante, an American Samoa.
Sally, the yellow Sapsaree adopted in Maryland
Sally (formerly Norange) is a one and a half year old female Sapsaree from Han Gook and Maggie's family line. Sally was surrendered by her owner to be better taken care. Sally was adopted by a family in Maryland that has been waiting to adopt a dog for years. Sally adapted quickly to her new home (and in fact, the quickest among all rescues) and is healthy. Sally enjoys going to urban parks with her family and meeting new people and doggie friends. Sally is keen on keeping all observed squirrels up on the tree and can stand on her hind legs and twirl just like her dad Han Gook. On one occasion, Sally had an adorable encounter at a park where she met a tiny 4lbs dog named Pedro who was ready to play. Sally did her usual front paw stance and jumped around, but she was about ten times bigger than Pedro and saw that he was a little nervous. Sally, then modified her play stance, put her paws and her head on the ground and let Pedro pounce on her head! Sally proves to be a clever girl.
Falkor from an adoption in Washington DC
Falkor is a year old boy from the Han Gook and Maggie's family line, between Bibi and Dal-lae. Falkor was in a very challenging condition when he was rescued. He was tied outside a house, living with mice running all over his food and shelter. Falkor was rescued from Maryland in April 2011 and was taken immediately to the hospital. He was undernourished and very timid with all the changes around him. Falkor was adopted by a very kind and gentle family that took a good loving care of him. Falkor was named after the luck dragon in a German novel "Never Ending Story." Falkor is now a completely new dog, happily attached to the new family and slowly recovering his health. Falkor loves meeting new dogs and playing with them at doggie park, and he howls like his grandpa Han Gook to the sound of siren.

Maggie and the puppies from adoptions in Virginia
Maggie came to the U.S. with Han Gook in 2007. She has given birth to more than 30 puppies in three years. Most Sapsarees found in the DC area are from Han Gook and Maggie's family line. Over-breeding left Maggie in poor health and she often tried to escape before she was rescued. Maggie and her five puppies have been well cared for by a foster family, who had adopted Maggie. Maggie nursed her puppies for a few weeks after the rescue until May 2011 when five neighborhood families adopted them. Maggie and all her puppies see one another quite often since they live in the same neighborhood. Sometimes the puppies sleep over at Maggie’s house. Maggie has a strong motherly nature. She is very gentle and caring. The puppies are very smart and playful, especially the boys, Bear, San and Tobey. The girls (Penny and Simona) are slowly overcoming shyness. All Maggie’s puppies are healthy.

Mong, the yellow Sapsaree adopted in New York
Mong is an 8 year old white male Sapsaree that was rescued by a local SPCA in NY and adopted by a very compassionate family in April 2008. At the time of the rescue, Mong was in a very challenging condition both health and behavior wise. Mong's family took a kind and loving care of Mong with rehabilitation and training. Over time, Mong became the most gentle and loving life companion, and now lives happily with his family in upstate New York. Mong does not come from either NJ or DC family line, and is identified in Korean Sapsaree Foundation's record and appears to have immigrated to America with his previous owner. Sadly, Mong is having some difficult health conditions and is undergoing various examinations to diagnose a few masses found in his hip area. Please keep Mong and his family in your thoughts. Thank you.
Baek-doo, the white Sapsaree adopted in Maine
Baek-doo was adopted by a kind family in Maine who was delighted to find Baek-doo's pedigree and root through the Korean Sapsaree Foundation recently. The family was most grateful for knowing Baek-doo's birthday to celebrate with. Baek-doo took some time to adjust to his new home and family. He apparently did not like American food very much first but now cheese and spaghetti are his favorite food. Baek-doo enjoys walks in the nature, chasing squirrels, deer, fox, and ducks. The neighbors complement Baek-doo for being smart, being able to understand two languages perfectly fine. It took a little while but Baek-doo found his way home eventually where he is dearly loved and cared.
